We are delighted to announce that after a three-day inspection in February, Gulf British Academy (GBA) has passed the Council of British International Schools (COBIS) membership compliance inspection.
Alongside this we have also become members of the British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) network following an inspection by their country representative.
What does COBIS and BSME membership mean?
It’s all about maintaining standards and continual development. COBIS and BSME Member schools must meet strict criteria in order to be accepted into membership.
These rigorous compliance checks cover health and safety, child protection, recruitment, management, and an assessment of our curriculum to ensure that it’s based on the National Curriculum in England.
At GBA we take pride in providing an excellent education and by joining COBIS and BSME not only have we met recognised standards but we have also become part of a world-wide network of excellent schools. This will enable us to share best practice, to take part in staff and pupil events, and to provide our staff with continuous professional development opportunities.
The future
We now look forward to working with COBIS and BSME to continue our growth and development as well as welcoming inspectors from Penta International to undertake our British Schools Overseas (BSO) inspection.
