Through November to January, GBA established a range of fascinating Key Stage 2 school trips to the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre (ASCC), bringing to life aspects of our pupils’ current learning.
Year 3 enjoyed a workshop in the Eco-Systems museum, linking with their work on rainforests. Year 4 learned about habitats and animal skeletons, linking with their science curriculum. Year 5 focused on the Space museum as part of their work on our Solar System. Year 6 used gears and motors to create artistic patterns, developing their first machines in the Robotics and Transport Centre.
The excursions have been a great success this academic year, involving staff from the centre and even parent volunteers.
Furthermore, the feedback from the children has been resoundingly positive and we hope to use the ASCC and its school programme next academic year to further promote their curiosity and learning.
