Last week, pupils from KS1 and KS2 took part in Gulf British Academy’s annual Sports Day. This was held at GBA’s sister school Iqra’a Bilingual School.
Sports Day is an important event on GBA’s school calendar and one we all very much look forward to. It is an ideal time to show the school values and create healthy competition between pupils and our House teams.
The children really enjoyed competing in each of the games. These included an egg and spoon race, bean bag race, relay, and various obstacle courses – even tug-of-war with the teachers. There was a real team spirit shown by every child and all of them wanted to do well for their House.
After collating all of the scores, it was announced that the House of Stuart had won the KS1 Sports Day and the House of York had triumphed for KS2. Well done!
We would like to thank the P.E. Department, Teaching Assistants, Arabic staff and all others who were involved in planning and organising such a successful and enjoyable day. We are already looking forward to Sports Day 2019!
